The Stripey Badger Bookshop, Coffee Shop & Kitchen is in Grassington, the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Grassington, a vibrant village full of independent shops, cafes and pubs, doubles as Darrowby in the Channel 5 series of All Creatures Great and Small and the Stripey Badger Bookshop becomes G F Endleby, the Grocers.
A family business with mother and son Linda and James running the bookshop - together with Lyndsey they specialise in choosing you the perfect book you never knew you needed. We have extensive Yorkshire, history, science and sci-fi sections amongst our best-sellers, fiction, non-fiction, biography, fantasy, mythology and children's books. Plus of course stocking All Creatures Great and Small books!
Sister Jacqueline runs the coffee shop and kitchen and it's really home baking at its best. Well known for her amazing scones (marriage proposals are the norm), there are 15 varieties of cakes and bakes on offer at any one time.
Take-aways, all-day breakfast, light lunches and Afternoon Teas all catered for.

The filming of All Creatures Great & Small, which started in 2020, set Grassington as 'Darrowby' with the bookshop featuring as grocers G F Endleby, and the coffee shop & kitchen being transformed into a private house, behind whose doors the actors and crew assembled in between takes.
